How do I order a wedding cake?

  1. Choose a Design or two or three.

For example: if you want a Triple cake, you can choose the full Marble for the bottom tier, the Fault Line Marble for the middle tier and the Gilded Jagged Top for the top tier.

Another example: All white solid Triple cake and your florist can add flowers to it.

  2. Choose some Flavors. Each tier can be a different flavor.

  3. Choose a Size or two or three. If there isn’t a size that fits your number, Contact me and we can figure it out. You can also choose to have a smaller stacked cake and an additional single or two.

  4. Fill out the Wedding Form and submit a signed contract with a 50% retainer to reserve your date.

  5. You will be emailed to confirm your order and get everything solidified within 24-48 business hours. Forms submitted on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will be confirmed on the following Monday.

*** Your date is NOT scheduled with us until the form is submitted and the deposit is made.***

Even if we’ve emailed, texted or talked on the phone. We can only accommodate so many and it’s all by form submission.

What about Prices?

The great thing about ordering from Sugar, Butter & Flour is that my prices are right on my website. For your wedding, you don’t have to call me and haggle. You choose a Cake Size, some Flavors you want, fill out the Form and you pay the price that’s listed, plus tax. It’s honestly that simple.

Eeek! I love your designs and flavors, but what I want isn’t in my budget!

Something you can do is order the cakes individually with the designs and flavors that you love.

For example: you have a cake budget of about $300 and need to feed about 90 guests. What you can do is order a Medium Double and a Medium Single. That would come to $290 (excluding tax) and would feed about 90 guests. You would have one stacked cake and another, separate cake. This would also allow one of your helpers to pickup the cake, thus not having to pay the $50 delivery fee a 3 tier cake would require.

What if I need help with the design?

Then please contact me! Send an email or text and we’ll set up a time to chat and get it all figured out.

Do you offer Cake Tasting?

I sure do! I have a whole page for that! They are available as to-go kits.

Cake tasting method:

  • You Choose:

    • 3 cake flavors

    • 3 frosting flavors

    • 3 filling flavors

  • All will be packaged separately, allowing you to mix and match your flavors.

  • You get to take home the left overs!

  • $45

Do you offer desserts/treats?

We sure do! Here’s our growing list of all that we offer:

  • Several options of drop Cookies (not decorated)

  • Macarons

  • Gooey Butter Cake

  • Brownie Bites

  • Shooters

  • Rice Crispy Treats

  • Rocky Road

  • Meringue “cookies”

Come check out the work-in-progess Treats page!

What Flavors should I choose?

You can choose to have your entire cake one flavor or mix it up with each tier something different. It’s your wedding and you can have it your way! You don’t need to try to please everyone. Choose one tier that you and your significant other will love and if I’m honored to cut the cake, I’ll be sure to put a piece in your hand and have one of each flavor saved for after the wedding.

What if I want to save the top of the cake?

When you order with Sugar, Butter & Flour, you receive a complimentary 4 inch cake that you can save for your anniversary, or eat after your honeymoon! It’s yours to decide what to do with. It will come plastic wrapped, frozen and in a sealed box. All you have to do is stick it in a freezer. You can choose Chocolate or Vanilla.

Since you’ll have to worry about so many other things that day, we’ll arrange after the wedding when you’re able to pick it up.

For Gluten and Dairy allergens, I offer a gluten and diary free vanilla 4 inch anniversary cake for $10.

Tell me all about Cake delivery!

I deliver up to 1 1/2 hours, one way, from my home Bakery.

  • Deliveries and setup of the cake only are: $20 within Columbia, $50 within 45 minutes, and $100 within 1.5 hours. One way.

  • Deliveries for wedding cakes are made on Saturdays ONLY, after 12 pm. We are closed on Sundays.

***HUGE NOTE**** More of a disclaimer. From the bumpiness of the road and possible distance, the frosting will probably crack for large cakes. It will be smoothed out upon arrival, but for smooth cakes, it will still be somewhat visible. If you’re choosing to have flowers on the cake, those will help to hide the cracks. Choosing a textured or colored cake will greatly hide the smoothed out cracks.

Would you be available to cut the cake?

Not anymore, sorry! Your caterer is usually happy to do this, or a friend or relative. Cutting instructions are provided upon request.

Can I (or my wedding helpers) pick up the cake?

Absolutely! Drive carefully. Take turns, starts and stops very slowly. You can do it!

Cakes will be boxed for pickup with instructions on how to cut the cake.

Pick up times are: M-F 10am-6pm, Saturday 9-11am. Pick up is not available on Sundays.

How much cake do I need?

Wedding cake slice size has an industry standard of 1 inch by 2 inch.

All cake sizes and serving suggestions can be found on the Sizes page.

As an example: You’re inviting 150 guests. The Large Triple cake would fit that count nicely, with extra.

Do you make sheetcakes?

No, we do not offer sheetcakes.

Will you put Fresh flowers on my cake?

If flowers are left on the cake table before my arrival (with a note that they’re for the cake), I will be happy to put them on your cake for you. Otherwise, your florist may put them on.

Do you offer cake stand rentals?

Not yet. I will in the future.
